I've made WAV files for my boyfriend's band website in the past. We just wanted them there so people could hear his music. To make those WAV files I used the sound recorder that comes with Windows 3.*. No big deal. Problem was that the files were/are large, and take a long time to download. So, for this project I decided to try and convert those WAV files into Real Audio files. Next, I'd have to learn to encode them into this HTML. First I converted the WAV files to RM file format. That went easily, so I decided to try and make RM files from scratch. I got out the old worn out cassette, and got down to business. Considering I was working with low-end hardware I think the output is pretty good. I can't wait to get a camera and see what I can do with that. The Real Audio Encoder also encodes video! yay!
Below are a few of the files that I made. I will indicate which ones are converted and which ones are from scratch. I will say their size. You can download the Real Audio Player by clicking a link still farther below if needed. Oh, btw, just so you all know, all music is © R Band and its appropriate members.
